Director of Clinical Health Psychology

Paul Holte,  MS, MA, LP

I have been in practice as a Licensed Psychologist in MN since 1983. I earned a  Master of Arts degree in Educational Psychology and a  Masters of Science in Community Counseling.

My work as a psychologist with the State of MN at the Regional Treatment Center in St. Peter included these populations: general admission assessment and treatment for mental disorders; Hearing Impaired/Deaf Mentally Ill; TBI; Geriatric; Chemically Dependent;  Mentally Ill/Chemically Dependent; and Community Transitioning Programs for Mentally Ill and Dangerous individuals. In the past,  I served as a licensed teacher in Minnesota; Sports, Games, and Camping Director for the Minneapolis Public Schools, and served with the Minnesota Association for Retarded Citizens at a summer camp and at alternative school programs for high-risk youth.  Also, I have worked as a Special Needs Vocational Work Coordinator.   I have professional experience with several community based and county programs assessing and treating populations with a wide range of mental health issues.   For the past several years, in partial retirement, I have worked with Access Healthcare supporting patients in assisted living communities and skilled nursing facilities.

My current interests and activities include bicycling, cross-country skiing, inline skating, canoeing, firewood, and sawlog gathering, gardening, cooking,  music and theatre,  cabinet making, and furniture building.      I donate and support The Loppet Foundation; Sommer's Alumni Association, Northern Tier High Adventure Programs;  The American Birkebeiner Foundation; Minnesota Youth Ski League;  Habitat for Humanity; Parkinson's Foundation; The Guthrie Theater; The U of M Landscape Arboretum and Minnesota Public Radio.

Mary Brixius, MSW, LICSW

I have 20 years of professional experience addressing the counseling needs of adults, adolescents, children, and families. In this professional work, I have developed significant experience with treating trauma, neglect, child abuse, parenting, chemical dependency, and relationship issues. Also, my professional life to date has required clinical and emotional sensitivity to populations with high racial and environmental disparities. I am currently a consultant with a CD residential treatment center in St. Paul, MN which specializes with women’s CD and mental health care needs.
